How can I book a Local Insider?
Simply, select your destination. Then use the filters to find which Local Insider fits what you’re looking for. Send out booking requests to those you like. After a short while you should get responses as to whether your requests have been accepted or not. You won't wait longer than 48 hours to receive a confirmation and proceed through to the fun part, payment... (If none of your chosen Local Insiders say yes then we will pick one for you, we promise we'll pick a good one based on what you want.)
Do I need to pay upfront or after taking the trip?
We ask that payments be made upfront. This is because we operate in developing countries so for your Local Insider your experience is much more than just a little bit of extra cash. We want to ensure that as soon as your tour is completed and a review is left our locals partner gets is paid what they have earnt.
Can I contact my Local Insider before making the payment?
Yes, of course. When sending your booking request you can write a message to the Local Insider, include what you are looking to experience and what your tastes and preferences are. For example, if you’re a huge Indiana Jones fan and fancy exploring a post-apocalyptic landscape in the day, before winding down at your Local Insider's favourite temple-themed seafood restaurant at night, tell them that. Alternatively, if you are slightly lower-maintenant and not too sure what to do you can put something along the lines of "I fancy going off the beaten path and spending the day taking photos at local markets".
What costs are included in the booking fee?
The cost of the booking is based on the hourly price set by your Local Insider. They created this price based on what they feel is a fair cost for their time helping you. We provide pricing guidelines to help set these rates but in the interest of fairness we don’t want to dictate these rates and tell our partners their worth. Traditionally most of the money spent on foreign traveling has been going into the pockets of large domestic travel companies. We have turned this model around so your money goes straight to the people who create the value for you. There may be some extra expenses, such as a bus ride or your own food. If you want to know about these then you can ask your Local Insider in advance.
What payment methods are accepted?
At the moment, in order to process your information securely we ask that payments are made via Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB, Discover, and Diners Club. Please note that offline or cash payments are a violation of our Terms of Service which can result in removal from Inspitrip. We prohibit these payments because it makes it harder for us to protect your information and puts you at a greater risk of fraud and other security issues.
Should I tip my Local Insider after the trip?
This is entirely your choice. In Vietnam tipping is common for service providers, usually at around 5% of the cost. However, using us means the majority of your booking fee goes straight to the local, so there is no pressure to add any more.
After I have booked a trip can I invite my other friends to join?
Agree this with your Local Insider. It shouldn't be a problem but first please check. They may have made transport arrangements or have an additional fee for extra people. If you let them know beforehand they will be able to accommodate this change.
What happens if my booking request isn't accepted?
We recommend that you select at least three Local Insiders when making a request to maximize the chances of at least one being available. In the rare case of none of your requests are accepted, we can help arrange one for you.
Can I cancel my booking?
You can cancel your trip with your Local Insider at any point before your trip. Please make sure you understand our Cancellation policies before doing so. For our Local Insider, you too can cancel bookings, again, it is advised for you to check the terms before doing so.
Can I change my booking information?
Of course. Simply cancel your first booking (after having read our super exciting Cancellation terms) and book a new Local Insider.
How can I get refund?
There are a few straightforward ways. If it is a cancellation-triggered refund then sit tight and you will receive the money into your Inspitrip wallet, ready for withdrawal. If it is for other reasons please contact our customer support who are on hand to assist you at any time or day.
Is there any advice before I choose my first booking with Inspitrip?
Before you book, share your story in the bio section of your profile and let your Local Insider know a little something about you when making your request. Spend some time reviewing the Local Insiders to make sure they are a good match for you. Make sure to contact them to tell them where and when you would like to meet and if you are running late. How do I know I can trust my Local Insider?
We take your safety very seriously so we thoroughly verify our Local Insiders. This includes meeting them in person, looking at social network accounts, photographs and videos provided. If we are not satisfied with the information they provide us we will not publish their account on our site.

Keeping your profile up to date ensures you have the best experience tailored for you.
Why should I link my profile to my other social accounts?
We help you connect with your Facebook, Google and other social media accounts. This is to protect your safety and to check every member is whom they claim to be.
How can I apply to be a Local Insider?
If you want to share your local experience and knowledge then it is super easy with Inpsitrip. You just need to sign up with your email or social media account then go through to complete your profile. We will help you fill out your profile as you go but we also recommend that you read the guide before doing so. I've just got my first booking request, what do I do?
We are here to help. Read what your request is asking for you to do and think about how you can add your own personality and knowledge. Decide if you can accept this request and reply to your traveller stating what you can do for them. When do I get paid?
You get paid straight after you and your traveller have successfully submitted your reviews for each other. In cases of negative feedback, please see our Booking Policies for more information.
How do I get paid?
Once the tour ends the money will hit your Inspitrip wallet. You can then withdraw this into your own PayPal account. You can either leave it there for further payments or download it into your own bank account, it's up to you. How can I withdraw the money from my wallet?
It's super easy. Link it to your PayPal account and select to send the money in your wallet to it.
Why should I accept the booking through Inspitrip instead of directly from the traveller?
By going through our website you only get benefits. By sticking on our site you not only get free advertising but also reviews. This helps you build up your credibility and reputation, which in turn means more bookings. Also, when you go off the platform we can no longer help with any safety or information protection your information. This puts you at a greater risk of fraud and other security issues.
Can I cancel a booking?
Yes of course. We understand that you have a life outside of Inspitrip and that you may need to cancel your commitment from time to time. It is advised that before you do so check out our cancelation terms HERE.
