Day 1: Welcome to Vietnam - Exploring the Southern part
On your first day in Vietnam, your local guide will get you on a city tour where you will spend time visiting the most iconic and historical landmarks as well as local attractions such as the Notre Dame Cathedral, War Remnant Museum, Reunification Palace, and more. You will have the chance to study about its history, the rich cultures of Vietnamese and witness for yourself the crazy traffic that makes Saigon infamous, enjoy delicious street food recommended by some of the world's best chefs, and drown yourself in the hospitality and warmth of its residents.
In the afternoon, pass by local attractions such as the City Post Office, Nguyen Hue Walking street, and have Vietnamese coffee at a coffee shop in the old apartment, where you can have the panoramic view of the city and picturesque Saigon river in the sunset.
Day 2: Mekong Delta
This 2-day trip will take you to Southwest of Vietnam where you can get to know more about the daily lives of indigenous people and the longstanding cultural beliefs of the Vietnamese.
Cao Dai Holy temple is a monotheistic religion officially established in the city of Tây Ninh in southern Vietnam in 1926 with about one million followers. This religion is a concoction of many religions like Buddhism, Taoism, Confucius, Catholic, and Muslim.
Get on sampan boat to go further into local villages, where you can visit local workshops and observe the making of rice paper, coconut candy, pop-rice; pass by the floating market, fruits garden, fishing farm, and Ba Kiet's ancient house for delicious local food experience.
In the afternoon, go kayaking or biking (optional) along the countryside road to breathe in the fresh air and the peaceful atmosphere in the village. Then back to the van and spend a night at Ut Hoai homestay in Can Tho.
On the next day, take a small rowboat to paddle along the small canals, where you can also see the locals going about their day in Cai Rang village. Make a stop by fruit garden Ba Cong, Hu Tieu noodle workshop and local sea market. Your local guide will get you to witness more local workshops to see how the local products are made. Here, you also can find beautiful handicrafts with reasonable prices as souvenirs for friends and families.
Day 4: Cu Chi Tunnels & Night food tour
With 200 kilometers in length, Cu Chi Tunnels - the underground fort - is certainly a must-visit place for you to learn more about the history of Vietnam war. In this visit, you will learn about its important role in the Vietnam War, the daily struggles of its inhabitants as well as the displays of historical artifacts such as the exhibition of booby traps, weapons, and fighting strategies that were used during the war. Moreover, you will also attend the military workshop in which soldiers, sometimes civilians, created new weapons from the scraps that the Americans left behind or even from broken artillery.
Ask your local guide to get you to the real fire at the shooting range, where the Vietnamese soldiers trained their marksmanship. Here, you can try firing genuine AK-47s and machine guns.
Before heading back to Ho Chi Minh City, don't forget to experience some local specialties offered by the land of steel. One of those is tapioca with sesame salt. Have a taste of this traditional dish and a hot cup of tea before heading back to Saigon.
At the end of the day, your local guide will get you on a very unique food tour around the city by car or motorbike. Get your stomach fulfilled with delicious street food and tropical fruit smoothies.
Day 5: Da Nang - My Khe beach
After spending 5 days exploring the unique cultures and history of the Southern part, get your flight up to the Middle of the country, which has the most beautiful coastlines. You will get to see one of the most stunning beaches on earth - My Khe beach of Da Nang City. Spending half of the day joining local sport activities on the beach or get your natural tanned skin for gorgeous selfie photos will make your summer trip joyful and unforgettable.
After energetic daytime activities, let your local guide introduce special local restaurant located along the beach. Here, you are free of choosing many kinds of seafood, cooking methods and enjoy your decent meal on the windy night coast.
Day 6: Hoi An old quarters
In this trip, you will catch the morning bus to Hoi An old quarters, in which the old houses are well preserved and traditional shops become popular and very attractive to all travelers. In your day trip to Hoi An old quarters, you will have chance to join a local cooking class at Tra Que village, where you are helped to get fresh ingredients for your dishes and learn how to make traditional foods by restaurant recipes.
Also, Hoi An is the best place to get traditional products such as handmade products, gorgeous Ao dai and Vietnamese unique coffee shops. Wanderlust in Hoi An town – the old quarter architects are a blend of Japanese, Vietnamese and Chinese influences. Don't forget to have a boat ride along Thu Bon river on the sunset and release the lotus lanterns. Hoi An at night is whimsical and attractive to all anyone coming to this town.
Day 7: Hoi An, Da Nang, and Hue
Marble Mountains are a cluster of five hills, made out of limestone and marble. Located 9 km from Da Nang, they are a pilgrimage site with caves, temples, tunnels and peaks. The closer you get to the mountains, the more you can find them a stunning and mysterious site, just waiting to be discovered.
Non-Nuoc village, famous for its stone carvings, lays at the foot of the mountains. Here you are invited to different local workshops and witness the skillful artists at work.
Enjoy your lunch time at a local restaurant in central Da Nang. In the afternoon, visit Giant Lady Buddha in Son Tra peninsula – the highest statue in Central of Vietnam.
Day 8: The Citadel and Tombs
Visit the intricately decorated tomb of Khai Dinh, which preserves a beautiful altar and a bust of the King.
Also, explore the most important relic – the Citadel, seat of the Nguyen Dynasty emperors. The construction began in 1804 under the orders of the first Emperor Gia Long after the site had been selected using principles of geomancy (Feng Shui). The citadel was inspired by Vauban fortifications and is composed of three sections; the capital city (Thanh Kinh), the Imperial city (Hoang Thanh) and the Forbidden City (Cam Thanh). It was largely destroyed in 1968 during the fighting that engulfed Hue following the Tet Offensive. Today, efforts are being made to restore and preserve this invaluable piece of heritage.
Stay overnight in Hue city.
Day 9: Exploring Thuy Bieu Eco-Village
Depart from Toa Kham Wharf to Thien Mu Pagoda, the first stop of the day. This historic temple in the city, located near Perfume River, is a symbol of Hue and a wonderful place for you to relax and refresh.
Jump back on the boat for a scenic cruise to Thuy Bieu Eco-village. Arrive in Thuy Bieu, for a few hours of strolling or biking around the quiet village:
Visit the local garden, the Luong Quan temple, an old ancestral temple of the royal family ancestral house and meet local people.
Visit handicraft families such as the incense making family and the paper painting family, to discover the daily life of local people. Be welcomed into their workplace and experience the joy and enthusiasm
Enjoy the lunch at a local restaurant (Hue Ecolodge) with traditional Hue specialties. At the end of the tour, enjoy time to relax by stepping your feet into medicinal herb water, a traditional therapeutic practice. Our excellent massages are performed by expert blind masseurs.
Day 10: Hue – Ho Chi Minh city – Home
Come back to Ho Chi Minh city and then end of the 10-day tour in Vietnam.
