Brace yourself for the breathtaking panoramic views of terraced fields in Lao Chai or Y Linh Ho, especially during the rice season in April and September.

Search for beautiful waterfalls hidden inside Cat Cat village, or stop by Ma Tra village to visit the home of the Red Dao and Black H'mong and witness the interesting mixture of these two different ethnic groups. Some of our guides are also H'mong themselves. The H'mong are the biggest ethnic minority group in Sapa, and one that has many interesting traditions. For example, there are about 18 clans in the entirety of H'mong society all around the world, and members of the same clan cannot marry each other! They also decorate their clothes with numerous accessories, jewelry, and even coins - causing a distinct jingle whenever they move wearing their classic garments. Pickup

The trip will start at around 7 a.m. Your local guide can pick you up at your hotel in central town of Sapa by motorbike or van.

Main activities

Upon meeting your guide, you will be able to choose the trekking route based on your desired difficulty level. Following are some examples:

• Route 1 (Sapa - Lao Chai - Ta Van): Great choice for nature lovers. You will have the chance to witness the stunning beauty of terraced fields, uncapturable by photos. You will also learn about the life of the H'mong people and their costumes.

• Route 2 (Sapa - Ma Tra - Ta Phin): If you are a cultural enthusiast, choose this route. Learn about how brocade is made, or bathe in the herbal leaves of the Red Dao ethnic people. Cost for the bath is not included.

• Route 3 (Sapa - Cat Cat - Y Linh Ho - Lao Chai - Ta Van): A perfect blend of nature and culture: visit the ethnic people in Cat Cat village and enjoy beautiful views of the rivers, hills, and valleys.

Drop-off

Depending on the route you choose, the trekking duration is different. Usually, it will end before sunset so expect to arrive at your hotel in Sapa around 6 or 7 p.m.
